Jay earned a Drama Desk nomination for his work in the multi-award winning Howard Crabtree’s When Pigs Fly. He appeared on Broadway in the ill-fated musical Cleavage and has toured Europe as Sylvia Bills with La Gran Scene Opera Co. di New York. Some other cool, New York roles include Mingnon Mullen in My Deah, Uncle Fate in Idaho! The Comedy Musical, Archy in Archy and Mehitabel, Roscoe in Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, Trey in The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told, Wizard in Once Upon A Mattress and in the revues Howard Crabtree’s Whoop-Dee-Do and Keith Thompson’s Kooky Tunes. In addition to performing and directing he has served on the faculty at the International Cabaret Conference at Yale and has appeared as a Guest Artist for three summers at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center. He has taught at The Singers Forum and is in demand as a guest teacher.
MAC, BackStage Bistro and Nightlife Award winner Carolyn Montgomery is a singer, songwriter and recording artist, based in New York City. In 2015, her show Visible Phoenix marked her return to the cabaret stage, and played to packed houses for a year at the Laurie Beechman Theatre, to excellent reviews, including the the New York Times, and traveled to London, San Francisco, Chicago and Provincetown. Her CD Visible Phoenix, with Music Director Jon Weber (NPR Jazz) and a five piece band, has made two major “Top Ten Recordings of 2015” lists. In December, Carolyn kicked off The Rise Tour, taking a choral piece she co-wrote with Music Director Jeff Cubeta across the country to raise money for The Matthew Shepard Foundation. Pianist/Bandleader/Arranger/SingerSongwriter, Tracy Stark is a 8-time MAC Award winner (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs), in the categories of Music Director, Song of the Year, and Piano Bar Entertainer. She is also a Bistro Award winner for Musical Direction, and winner of Cabaret Hotline’s Songwriter of the Year Award.
Tracy has worked with Lesley Gore, Phoebe Snow, Karen Black, Randy Jones (Village People), Sarah Dash (LaBelle), Barb Jungr, Brenda Braxton, Eric Millegan (Bones), Tonya Pinkins, and hundreds of other rock, jazz, and broadway vocalists. She stays busy creating and music directing 75-100 different shows per year.
She released her 3rd CD of original music, Shades of Beautiful, in 2016 on the MIRANDA MUSIC label, with world class vocalists, including Lillias White, Nona Hendryx, Ann Hampton Callaway, Lesley Gore, Jane Monheit, Karen Black, Barb Jungr, and other great artists.
Lennie Watts is a 13 time MAC, 5 time Backstage Bistro, 3 time Nightlife, and a 2014 Broadway World Award Winner. He is the only person to receive awards as an outstanding vocalist, director, producer, and booking manager. He has been active in the New York cabaret scene for over 25 years. In addition to directing in small cabaret venues, he has directed events at Symphony Space, Town Hall, and BB King Blues Club. He has toured nationally and internationally with productions of "The Music Man" (Marcellus) and "The Wizard Of Oz" (Lion). He has performed at Town Hall in several concerts, including "Broadway Unplugged" and "Broadway By The Year, 1949," and can be heard on the cast recordings of both shows. As a theater director, he has directed productions of "How To Succeed In Business...", "Godspell," "Dames at Sea," "Joseph And The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat," and "Phantom." Watts is the creator of "cablab", "Summer In The City, and The Arrangement Experience and Boot Camp, all critically acclaimed professional cabaret performance workshops. He created and produced the award winning "Under The Covers" series."The Village Voice" calls him "A one man cabaret army!" He is the 2013 MAC Award Winner for Outstanding Major Artist for his critically acclaimed show, "Bloody Bloody Lennie Watts". Lennie was recently named One of the 50 Most Influential People in Cabaret, and is currently the President of MAC.
Karen Mason has starred on Broadway, Off-Broadway, television, and recording. She is a 12-time MAC Award winner, most recently for 2015 CELEBRITY ARTIST OF THE YEAR and 2015 SHOW OF THE YEAR. She has also won the 2006 Nightlife Award for Major Female Vocalist and has three Bistro Awards. On Broadway she has been seen in WONDERLAND, MAMMA MIA (Tanya in original Broadway Company), HAIRSPRAY, SUNSET BOULEVARD, JEROME ROBBINS’ BROADWAY, and TORCH SONG TRILOGY.
As a concert artist, Karen has headlined Carnegie Hall, The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, Feinstein's at The Regency, Rainbow & Stars, and the Algonquin. She has also performed in concerts and symphony performances around the world. She has shared concert stages with Michael Feinstein, Jerry Herman, Chita Rivera, Luciano Pavarotti, Rosemary Clooney, Liza Minnelli, and John Kander & Fred Ebb, among others.
Her highly acclaimed recordings include her newest single, IT'S ABOUT TIME, written by Paul Rolnick and Shelly Markham; Her many albums include Christmas! Christmas! Christmas!, featuring songs by her longtime composer/arranger, Brian Lasser (including the 1998 Emmy Award-winning song "Hold Me").
